Über mich

I am a painter and psychiatrist, based in Aarau, Switzerland. I was born in Athens and grew up between Greece and Germany.

My artistic work emerges through an attempt at a dialectic between the here, in real time and space, and an inner there, without time and space, to which I have no direct access. At its center lies the development of a distinct visual language that unfolds in the here and now.

My work takes shape through repeated attempts at approximation and different forms of articulation. The visual language moves between legible, figurative elements and symbolic, fragmented structures. Form, materiality, and color function as its primary carriers.

The aim of my work is not the discovery of a hidden content. Rather, it seeks the expansion and development of a language — in its simplicity, multiplicity, and multidimensionality.

This development follows a claim to radical freedom and a fundamental permission of expression that does not submit to predetermined orders or systems. It is precisely this openness that constitutes a structural framework, a space of safety. Within it, that which is lost or passes by in the course of my, or our, becoming can unfold and develop.

Perhaps.
